Negative People

Negative people see only the mistakes of others and treat these errors as if they are personal faults against themselves. Meanwhile, they cannot see the real efforts exerted and never give credit for all the right things others were actually able to do.

They find something wrong or something to criticize in almost everything but do not know how to give encouragement nor praise. They will rather watch others fail than  give proper guidance or practical advice.

They cannot differentiate between a temporary inconvenience and a real problem. They exagerrate the importance of the smallest details if these do not conform to their views or desires. In their own points of view they are perfectionist but in reality they are just being petty putting meaning and even malice in the most trivial matters.

Above all they do not see themselves as negative persons and will never admit to it.

An Awakening Dream

An Awakening dream that started my day full of light, love and energy

A.M.D.G.

The dream: I was going to "cut class" by leaving the Chan Hall from a session of a half day meditation retreat. I ran, hopped over bonsai and hedges, did parkour tour of bridge-ways and balusters til I have jumped over the wall unto my extra long, long board.

I glided trough terra cotta, cobble stones and brick roads and alleyways up until I came straight inside into my friends' home.

They are both of school age of about 8 and 12. They were wearing yukatas of white patterned with bamboo and twigs of black. It seemed that they were just preparing for a bath and needing to go somewhere special. Yet, in I went and rode my board into their spacious rooms. The shoji doors welcoming their familiar guest by opening automatically to accommodate me room by room.

In a little while, my friends' mother came home. It baffled me a little as she was wearing an identical robe as her sons' out in the streets. We exchanged greetings and farewells. She then offered me the use of their foot bath by handing me a very small bamboo dipper. In this dream logic the washing of the feet of a guest leaving is for their own spiritual cleansing from whatever impurification, debasement or corruption that the inhabitants could have tainted the house and, therefore, their visitor with. I took the dipper from her and squatted by the clear pool. I got a ladleful and let the water stream back down gently so as not to make a single drop splash out. I then whirled the water around the pool from the bottom upwards telling the mother telepathically that the water is as pristine and untarnished as their home and that I am stirring their souls.

Stepping outside, I was surprised that two very long side by side lines of cars with their red tail lights are snaking into nowhere. I could feel anxiety, frustrations and even rage of the drivers and passengers. I had to do something. I placed my palms on two side by side cars and they became boulders. Each car at their front and back and all the way up and down all cars in their own turn changed in to boulders and they are now winding upwards a mountain path while two gentle streams sing on each side.

On top of the rocks I saw people parading by springing from one boulder to another as if they are just skipping on footpath stones. At the front of the lines were a variety of kimonos, chogus, multicolored ceremonial robes, Changsangs and other vestments with some wax paper parasols dotting the procession . I know they have started their journey a very long time ago. Young people then children were next and at the end of the line were the laughing toddlers. Some were dressed on woolen jackets and pants, some versions of shirts, blouses, shorts and skirts while some have only cloth diapers on. They chuckled when they saw me and waved beckoningly to join them. In an instant I was on all fours and their laughter grew louder. I was now a toddler like them. I have been invited to the procession by the very old souls.

I stretched my neck to see what is at the top , yet, I already knew.
I would be a very modest shrine, humble, simple, small.
I also know that we could all fit in, the ancient ones and I, then you and us for this temple has no boundaries, no discrimination,

~~~~~~~
today I lit four incenses for the departed ones that I have learned about through friends in FB
the father of Joel Sevilla Erestain, Rey Galban, the mother of Eizel Hilario, the husband of Amy Resontoc, also in rememebrance of Arik Palomar, Jorel Buhay, Mikee Illescas, my Auntie Baby Mendoza and all my friends and relatives and ancestors who have passed away.
I also lit a single incense for all the prayers asked for healing from my news feeds
~~~~~~~

as for the writing of this , I am dedicating it for Coby, May you be bathed with waves of light and love from all those that have come before us and from all those that are still yet to come. May the universe and our Creator cradle you in their arms

Life calls forth

I abandon everything

I shed my thoughts and being

I am one with everything again

Life, breathe me in

and let me inhale all of  You
and I am here again to vanish within

into the being of everything that folds into nothing

where my life and world meet

in the juncture where delusion dissolves and reality sets in

I am alive

yet, I do not live

Namah sarvajnaaya
-Adoration to the Omniscient!

Aaryaavalokiteshvara-bodhisattvo gambhiiraayaam prajnaapaaramitaayaam caryaam caramaano vyavalokayati sma: panca skandhaah; taamshca svabhaava-shuunyaan pashyati sma.
-When Holy Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva performed the deep practice in the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom, he contemplated that there were five aggregates but observed that they were devoid of essential nature.
Iha Shaariputra ruupam shuunyataa shuunyataiva ruupam, ruupaan na prithak shuunyataa, shuunyataayaa na prithag ruupam, yad ruupam saa shuunyataa, yaa shuunyataa tad ruupam.
-In this case, Shaariputra, form is voidness and voidness is itself form; voidness is not different from form, and form is not different from voidness; that which is form is voidness, and that which is voidness is form.
Evem eva vedanaa-samjnaa-samskaara-vijnaanaani.
-So it is for perception, conception, volition and consciousness.
Iha Shaariputra sarva-dharmaah shuunyataa-lakshanaa, anutpannaa, aniruddhaa, amalaa, na vimalaa, nonaa, na paripuurnaah.
-In this case, Shaariputra, all things have the characteristics of voidness; they neither arise nor perish; they are neither defiled nor pure, neither deficient nor complete.
Tasmaac Chaariputra shuunyaayaam na ruupam na vedanaa na samjnaa na samskaaraa na vijnaanaani.
-Therefore, Shaariputra, within the voidness, there is no form, no perception, no conception, no volition, nor consciousness.
Na cakshuh-shrotra-ghraana-jihvaa-kaaya-manaamsi.
-Neither is there eye, ear, nose, tongue, body or mind.
Na ruupa-shabda-gandha-rasa-sprashtavya-dharmaah.
-Neither is there form, sound, smell, taste, touch nor concepts.
Na cakshurdhaatur yaavan na mano-vijnaana-dhaatuh.
-Neither is there realm of sight, etc., until we come to the non-existence of realm of consciousness.
Na vidyaa, naavidyaa, na vidyaa-kshayo, naavidyaa-kshayo, yaavan na jaraa-maranam na jaraamarana-kshayo, na duhkha-samudaya-nirodha-maargaa, na jnaanam, na praaptir apraaptitvena.
-Neither is there wisdom, nor ignorance, nor extinction of wisdom, nor extinction of ignorance, etc., until we come to the non-existence of old age and death and the non-extinction of old age and death. Neither is there suffering, cause of suffering, extinction of suffering, nor the path leading to extinction of suffering. Neither is there wisdom nor acquisition because there is no grasping.
Bodhisattvasya prajnaapaaramitaam aashritya viharaty acittaavaranah. Cittaavarana-naastitvaad atrasto, viparyaasaatikraanto nishtha-nirvaanah.
-Depending on the bodhisattva's Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom, one dwells without any mental hindrance. Because of the absence of mental hindrance, one is fearless; freed from delusory thoughts, one will reach Nirvana.
Tryadhva-vyavasthitaah sarvabuddhaah prajnaapaaramitaam aashrityaanuttaraam samyaksambodhim abhisambuddhaah.
-All Buddhas dwelling in the three periods realize the highest, perfect enlightenment depending on the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom.
Tasmaaj jnaatavyo prajnaapaaramitaa-mahaamantro mahaavidyaa-mantro 'nuttara-mantro 'samasama-mantrah, sarvadukha-prashamanah, satyam amithyatvaat, prajnaapaaramitaayaam ukto mantrah.
-For this reason, know that the Great Mantra of the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom is the Great Wisdom Mantra, the Unsurpassed Mantra, and the Unequaled Mantra. It extinguishes all suffering, and is true and real because it is not false. It is the Mantra proclaimed in the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom.
Tad yathaa gate gate paaragate paarasamgate bodhi svaaha.
-Namely, "Gone, gone, gone to the other shore; Gone completely to the other shore.
Svaha."
 Iti prajnaapaaramitaa-hridayam samaaptam.
-Thus ends the Essence of the Transcendent Wisdom Sutra.

LIFE in this world is the most difficult course we could ever take.

It could only be taken once.

no review
no masteral
no doctorate

We do not have any other dean but God and once we have graduated from this school, we are done and gone.

only eternity can tell our rating: Passed or Failed.

So, live each day as if it is your Baccalaureate service.
Because in this course we'll never know the exact date of our closing ceremony

I am nothing, I know nothing
there is nothing to know, there is none to learn, none to understand

to understand is to learn.
to learn, accept all without trying

to understand

I submit my life to a life long learning
